When people ask me what is there to see in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida, I immediately think about the beautiful parks that we have, aside from the restaurants, shops and museums in the area. Because our parks are located right in the middle of downtown, they are easy landmarks to highlight.
The Vinoy Park in downtown Saint Petersburg, FL is a popular destination for locals. It’s home to live music and food events such as Taste of Pinellas and RibFest among many others. It’s located near the Renaissance Vinoy Resort with beautiful waterfront and scenic views of Tampa Bay, the marina and the pier. With an inviting and welcoming setting, you can watch the boats, see the dolphins in the water, or even relax and enjoy the scenery. The park is surrounded by beautiful trees, hotels, shops, restaurants, museums, nature, art, music and the downtown district. So, no matter what day of the week you decide to go, there is always something to do.
For those who love the outdoor activities, the park has a trail for biking, roller blading, jogging, skate boarding and running. It also offers a family friendly playground for little ones to enjoy the day as well as a dog park for dog owners. If you’re into fishing, then there is plenty of it from the sea wall.
The park is also available for private events, however you would need to apply for a park permit and fill out an application with the City of Saint Petersburg, FL. Of course, there are rules, regulations and fees that will apply when you decide to host an event. For your guests, plenty of parking is available near the park however the city also offers metered parking as well as wheel chair access.
I love living in Saint Petersburg, FL because of the diverse culture, art, music and cuisine it offers!! What do you love most about your city?
